Cookies are kind of a tracking mechanism that helps people tie your sales to your commissions when it comes to affiliate marketing.
A lot of people don’t realize that some programs have these short term cookies. There may be 24/72 hours.
But what you want to do is to prioritize affiliate programs and products that have long-term cookies, a week, or even 14 days, or 30 days behind them.
So that when you get that click, there’s a larger buying window. Now you have a better chance of earning that commission. Because if somebody who clicked on your link buys, but they wait, they hesitate, then that’s gonna be a sale, that you don’t get credit for it.
I mean, you want to help people, and provide resources. But you need also be nice, to get that commission for creating that value.
So ultimately, I think if you can find longer-term cookies, and increase that buying window, that you’re gonna be better off. And you’re gonna get more of those sales.

It is a long-term strategy and it’s going to be about recurring affiliate revenue.
Recurring affiliate revenue means that you’re usually to deal with like, for example software as a service, right?
A primary example would be for people who do something like building online courses.
So if I do any tutorials that teach people about online courses, you could give them a link to Teachable.
And what happens in that instance is, you would get 30% recurring revenue for the lifetime of that account.
If you keep on making videos, or content that helps people, and that facilitates a sale of that service, that you’re gonna get recurring revenue over, and over again
Now you can find a lot of different programs that offer recurring commissions.

It would mean making an automated post to social media, and doing content marketing.

If you grow your audience.and you have places to distribute, like Facebook, Twitter, etc, then that’s gonna help you.
If you can automate it, in a way that makes sense, then that’s also going to help you.
What I recommend is an automation tool for this, would be Meet Edgar, Hootsuite, or Buffer.
It can also help you, is make variations of these posts for different platforms, and also spread them out, schedule them, and use a content library.
But it’s something that I think would help a lot of you. If you are putting that content out, and people are going and clicking on your affiliate links, they will get more access to those cookies we talked more often. And if you automate this,you’re closer to making this truly passive.
Tip number 4 – Another way to scale affiliate marketing secrets is through ads.
Now, not all affiliate programs allow you to do that. So make sure you’re reading the terms of service, and that you’re in compliance with that.
But there are some affiliate programs that will let you take advantage of advertising in order to get lead generation, and traffic.
Now, in other cases, what you could do is not necessarily buy ads that take people directly to the point of purchase, for an affiliate program.
You can take them to a piece of content. And there’s usually nothing wrong with that in terms of service allow for.
Or you can go ahead, and you can buy ads. Then take people to a dedicated landing page, or to a blog post, or freebie for your email list. And you could grow it that way.
And that actually leads us directly into tip number 5, affiliate marketing secrets: using email marketing.
Now again, as long as your email marketing platform allows you to do affiliate marketing, this is perfectly fine to do. Just read your terms of service for everything. And if you’ve grown an email list, you will have direct access to people.
So if you have direct access to people through email, and you’re giving them value in the form of your newsletter, then you’re likely to get conversions and clicks from there, either to content or to direct links.
That’s gonna be really helpful, and keep people in your ecosystem. And will give you more opportunities to scale this.
And then you can lead them into an email sequence that might nurture them into a specific call to action. Or an appropriate product that you want to put in front of them. So I think that’s something you could really look at, and you can map out.

Tutorials usually work really good for software service products, and things of that nature. And this is something that I think more people could take advantage of, in the tutorial space. Because I think the tutorial space is really about someone wanting to make a buying decision. And wanting to be more educated about the product that they use.
And the good thing, especially if you think about recurring affiliate revenue or long term cookies, if you’re thinking about those two things, the way that this would work is that you’re more likely to have some eyes stick with a product.
And that’s why introducing products, being a resource, making tutorials, following up,answering questions is important. And can actually really help you to monetize, and make passive income by doing upfront work that makes you part of a community.
I think that people, in the tutorial space, or in the education space could take much more advantage of affiliate marketing as a way to monetize.
That doesn’t always require them to have people buy a course, or buy a digital download product.
You can help facilitate the tools that they use for their business, or their profession already. And you could make money that way. And it can be just as lucrative as if you were selling your own product.
You won’t get the margin, but you also are borrowing credibility. from an established platform, and brand, and you’re not having to do customer service.
You should really think a little harder about how you’re diversifying passive income.
And finally, my last advice, my last affiliate marketing secret for you is to have multiple affiliate marketing programs, that you’re participating in.
And I know that doesn’t sound like a secret, but this is the hat trick.
And prioritize the ones that stand to make you the most money long term, or the ones that provide the most upfront cash flow. If that’s what you really need.
Well, in the long term,I obviously prioritize the affiliate marketing programs that have recurring sales revenue tied to them, for the lifetime of the account. Because that’s the direction that I want to go in.
Now, other people who are starting out, maybe even as beginners, or intermediate, or they’re making a certain level of income, will want to prioritize what pays the most upfront money per individual transaction. Because they may be more concerned with cash flow, and that’s okay too.
So that might mean that they’re doing a higher ticket sales. That might mean that they’re doing volume-based sales.
And so you have to just understand to set your priorities based on either your expectations, or your limitations.
That’s why most people sign up for the Amazon affiliate program. Amazon is just really practical to recommend things that they use in their everyday life. And so, for them, it makes perfect sense.
Now, if you have a background in something, where you have expertise or experience, then you can take advantage of different affiliate programs. And you can make those a priority.
You can take advantage of that on a completely different channel, building out a platform around that. Since you have the ability and have the experience, and all this wonderful gear. So you might as well benefit from showing people how to use it.
